Cambodian strongman Samdech Techo Hun Sen has sent a strong political message against any Thai invaders who attempt to invade Cambodia, warning that Cambodia is ready to prevent such attempts from succeeding.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his support for the government that has sent troops and heavy weapons to the border and stated that this is not to wage war, but to prepare to resist any possible aggression.
At the same time, Samdech Techo Hun Sen noted that the explosion of weapons is not the Thai government’s political line, but it can be caused by any individual or party. The King sent a message to those outsiders that Cambodia will not allow any aggression against Cambodia, and Cambodia will use its right to defend itself against aggression.
Samdech Techo, as the head of the legislative body, said that in a border of peace, friendship, cooperation and development, such things should not happen. The King also strongly condemned any individual, organization, or class that decided to carry out such aggressive actions.

The King stated that Samdech Techo did not want to see any fighting, but supported the Royal Government’s decision to send troops and heavy equipment to the border to be ready to defend itself in case of further aggression. Samdech Techo also hoped that the upcoming talks between the army commanders of the two countries would yield good results.
Samdech Techo also hoped that there would be no tension along the border between the two countries to the point of hindering cooperation in other areas that would benefit both countries. Samdech Techo also called on his compatriots not to escalate this conflict into ethnic hatred and to trust in the resolution of the conflict by the Royal Government and the armies of both countries.

For his part, Prime Minister Hun Sen, who is in Tokyo, is also monitoring and directly directing decisions regarding the May 28 explosion. He called on the Cambodian people not to be worried and to trust the Royal Government and the Cambodian Army in finding a solution to this problem. The clash on the morning of May 28, 2025, was a tense armed clash that resulted in the death of a Cambodian soldier.
Regarding this situation, the Cambodian Ministry of National Defense has issued a press release confirming the incident of a clash between the Cambodian army and the Thai army at the border in Techommorkat village, Morkat commune, Choam Ksan district, Preah Vihear province. The Ministry of National Defense claimed that the clash between the Cambodian and Thai armies occurred because the Thai army had been attacking the trenches where the Cambodian army had been stationed for a long time.
The Ministry of National Defense said that the clash was not an option that Cambodia wanted, and the ministry will continue to discuss with the Thai Ministry of National Defense to find a common solution to quickly return the situation to normal and prevent this situation from happening again.
The Ministry of National Defense also asserted that Cambodia adheres to diplomatic means and peaceful resolution of issues, as well as maintaining its borders with neighboring countries as borders of peace, stability, development, and mutually beneficial cooperation, and the Cambodian army is committed to protecting its territorial integrity at all costs.
