Kampong Thom Province: With permission from the Royal Government and investment from the private sector, Kampong Thom Province has established a cashew processing factory worth millions of dollars to increase cashew processing for domestic supply and export to the international market.
Mr. Chea Van Chan, Deputy Governor of Kampong Thom Province, welcomed the construction of a cashew processing factory in Kampong Thom Province, which is a good gesture and a partner of the Royal Government in promoting the cashew sector, which has a very large area of land, out of 15,000 square kilometers with potential for rice. and industrial crops such as rubber, mango and cashew.
The Deputy Governor also said that the construction of a cashew processing factory in Salatsa commune, Prasat Ballang district is very important and beneficial to farmers who are growing this crop because this commune has a lot of cashew crops that farmers in each locality are growing, making the potential very large. It is worth noting that the company can also collect and buy from different sources that have grown it to process and export it to countries around the world. On the international stage. This investment project will be submitted as a provincial QIP project under the guidance of the Governor of Kampong Thom Province.
Mr. Uon Silot, President of the Cambodian Cashew Association, said that in the past, some people in the province cut rubber, planted cashews, cut cashews, planted rubber because they were not clear. When a product is expensive, they will go and plant that crop. Therefore, he asked the Cashew Association to increase the dissemination of the principles so that people understand the plan and the collaboration between the association, the private sector and the growers to be consistent.
At the same time, the representative of the cashew processing factory investment company said that the reason he chose to invest in building a factory in Kampong Thom province was because Kampong Thom is the province that grows the most cashews.
He continued that Cambodia, under the leadership of Samdech Thip Dee Hun Sen, is a great country and he will continue to promote it to other investors to come and invest in Cambodia.
He stated: “Some investors are also confused due to some negative interpretations. For Cambodia, but I am here, I see clearly that under the leadership of a good Prime Minister, investors have confidence.”
Ms. Pin Phirom, CEO of Unique Noble Trading Co., Ltd., said that the construction of the cashew processing factory, worth millions of dollars, on an area of 20 hectares, with an average processing capacity of 30 tons per day, using a workforce of 200-400 people, was built by Unique Noble Trading Co., Ltd.
The company’s CEO said that in addition to processing cashew nuts, the company will process cashew shells, extract oil, and process waste into fertilizer for farmers to use at a reasonable price. On the other hand, in this 20-hectare area, there is also an electronic factory for processing cashew nuts, which has cooperated well with Thanh Dat Company, Vietnam.
