The quiet explosion of a series of cases like this, whether we like it or not, is causing a bad reputation for Cambodia, which has so far been striving and setting goals in promoting services and promoting tourism and business.
Although in the past, crimes related to these weapons rarely affected local citizens. And other foreign tourism, it is the most negative image for Cambodia. And there is no need to hide it because on social media, everyone already knows, especially the case that occurred on February 14, 2025, in a karaoke shop in the “Ratanaksambat Center” building located in Tan Ngoun 2 Village, Kap Ti 1 Sangkat, Por Sen Chey District.
This case is known to have been caused by two unidentified Chinese groups who had a dispute while they were drinking and singing karaoke in the above location.
Up until now, it is still not known how this incident occurred and how it started, only that when they got together to eat and drink, an incident of hostility arose. During that time, witnesses saw them fighting and stabbing each other, but no one was injured. It was quiet for a while, and it was even more surprising because one of the parties pulled a weapon from the car and was shocked.
Fortunately, this violent incident did not cause major damage, and the explosion of weapons was not serious. In case it does happen, it is not known how this information will spread, and it is not known what the media and social networks in the outside world will publish to affect Cambodia.
After the incident broke out, the Por Sen Chey district police arrived at the scene, but the perpetrators fled. Later, they found a suspicious car that the group had destroyed, and found two AK47 weapons, a dangerous weapon, in the car. This is a case of crime that has created a new bad image for Cambodia. Therefore, we hope that the authorities will work hard to research and investigate and find the perpetrators and punish them according to the country’s laws without fail.
Cambodia must show the public at home and abroad that Cambodia is not a place where these criminals can make fun of the country’s reputation like this. Therefore, this is a task that all Cambodian authorities and relevant institutions must intensify and take urgent action to respond to this problem.
In addition to the suspects who caused these problems, another main task that the authorities should investigate is the source of their weapons. They are foreigners. Why do they always have weapons in their hands to cause such bad activities and images in Cambodia? These weapons are not a joke, because they are not short weapons, they are effective weapons of war that should not fall into the hands of these corrupt and illegal foreigners.
The foreigners who own these weapons must be exposed and suppressed, but those who supply these weapons of war to these foreigners must also be exposed in order to cut off the supply network and source and tarnish Cambodia’s reputation and honor.
In short, we should not be complacent. If we continue to be complacent, public security for citizens and tourists as well as businessmen may be at risk. Today, tomorrow, these criminals will only cause trouble, but the day after tomorrow, we do not know how it will affect citizens and other foreigners. We should also look at neighboring countries, such as the case of Thailand, which is very worried because they are worried about the safety and reputation of their country.
