On April 21, 2025, major tycoons in Cambodia came together to announce a plan to build a modern and large hospital, claiming to have invested a combined capital of more than $300 million.
This investment is very large compared to previous investments in the country’s health sector. But the question is whether this investment is sufficient, that is, it is not enough, and Cambodia still needs to invest and strengthen the health sector further.
Those big tycoons include Oknha Kith Meng, Oknha Leang Khun, Oknha Leang Meng, Oknha Thai Chea Huot, Oknha Sea Rithy, etc. They have joined forces with the largest share being 23 percent and the lowest share being 5 percent. These tycoons and tycoons plan to open a new and largest modern hospital in 2028.
The tycoons and tycoons, to put it simply, are the top local billionaires and millionaires who have come together in this way, with the aim of providing world-class medical services locally and reducing the need for Cambodians to seek medical services abroad.
With this project, we believe that their unity is the right vision. In strengthening national health services, every citizen still needs hospitals with clear expertise, materials and equipment equipped with modern technology, and most importantly, doctors with clear expertise and trained according to international standards with a high level of care and focus on patient care.
Your decision is correct, but nevertheless, I ask you to also consider the merits and value of your project. With a huge budget of $300 million, the new hospital not only represents a medical facility with a team of highly qualified doctors, state-of-the-art equipment, and excellent service, but also the quality and value of life-saving services for the general public, who currently have a standard income of only $2,924 per year.
The hospital construction project is using $300 million to build the hospital in the hope of becoming a comprehensive medical center, including general medicine, surgery, and Cardiology, oncology, pediatrics, orthopedics, and many other medical services, but humanity and virtue in the medical field should also be considered.
This hospital is the starting point of a project to invest in the professionalism of local healthcare professionals through continued training, capacity building, and increased collaboration with international partners. Therefore, making a valuable contribution to national development, improving the livelihoods and well-being of Cambodians of all classes is also a core for the country.
In short, the fact that all the big tycoons in Cambodia have signed a memorandum of understanding to pave the way for the establishment of a large modern hospital in the country is indeed a right decision that responds to the needs of citizens who today continue to spend money to seek medical services abroad. This is a project that responds to the desire to have and want to see their country have high-standard hospitals with modern equipment and a team of highly professional and ethical doctors.
