This statistic is slightly lower because in 2024, Cambodia had an average of 7.7 traffic accidents per day, and the number of fatalities was also higher, reaching an average of 4.1 people per day.
So far, according to what the authorities have said, the causes of traffic accidents are nothing new, they are the same, including speeding, not respecting the right of way, not keeping to the right, making dangerous turns, competing for traffic, drunk driving, weather conditions, not respecting traffic lights, drowsiness, and road factors.
