$27 million project provides jobs for over 1,000 Battambang residents

With a new project, people in Battambang province no longer need to look for work in factories in Phnom Penh or elsewhere, as a new factory has just received the green light.

The Council for the Development of Cambodia said that in August, Ratan Mondul district in Battambang province attracted a new investment project to establish a fruit processing factory.
The same source said that the project is not large, with a cost of only around $27 million, but it has provided more jobs to citizens than other projects. With the capacity to provide up to 1,160 jobs.

In the first eight months of 2025, Cambodia attracted investment projects in the agricultural and agro-industrial sectors worth a total of approximately $370 million.

Investment projects in the agricultural and agro-industrial sectors include a fruit processing project in Battambang, a cattle raising project in Kratie, an agricultural project in Ratanakkiri province, a rubber processing project in Tbong Khmum, etc.
