China remains the largest source of foreign investment in Cambodia, while foreign investment from other countries such as Japan, the United States, South Korea, France, and the United Kingdom is very small, with each country contributing less than one percent.
The Council for the Development of Cambodia said that throughout 2024, Cambodia attracted a total of $6.9 billion in investment projects, attracting 387 new projects and 27 production expansion projects. These projects have created jobs for a total of 320,000 Cambodians.
According to the announcement, on the positive side, Cambodia has attracted 146 investment projects, with an increase of nearly $2 billion, an increase of nearly 40 percent compared to 2023.
The investment capital in these projects is 49.82 percent, invested by investors, mostly from China, and the remaining 33.81 percent are domestic investors. .
Throughout 2024, Cambodia attracted only 0.58 percent of investment projects from Japan, 0.41 percent from the United States, 0.23 percent from South Korea, 0.23 percent from Canada, and 0.10 percent from the United Kingdom.
